Helene Diederich founded the company as a contract packager in the summer of 1992. David Diederich joined the company in October 1993. Chad Buchta joined in December 1995. Under their leadership, the company initiated sales of specialty bags to various industries with a particular emphasis on agricultural chemical companies. Initial sales were made from a home office until expansion created the need for a move to a Halstead Street office and warehouse. Pactech acquired production machinery and moved to its current location at 1999 Mt. Read Boulevard in the city of Rochester, New York in November of 1998. Pactech has seen rapid growth while winning several awards for innovation (Package of the Year from the Flexible Packaging Association, Ameristar from the Institute of Packaging Professionals, Worldstar from the World Packaging Organisation) in specialty flexible packaging. We are proud that the company is recognized as an industry leader due to the quality of its personnel and our dedication to world-class service. Pactech also received recognition from its community for its rapid growth by inclusion several times in the Rochester Top 100 List sponsored annually by the Rochester NY Democrat & Chronicle and from ICIC-Inc. Magazine Inner City 100. Helene Diederich has also been recognized for her leadership and community efforts. She was a finalist for the Rochester, NY 2000 Small Business Person of the Year Award and a nominee for the 2001 ATHENA Award sponsored by the Womens Council of the Rochester (NY) Business Alliance. Pactech LLC was acquired by Nalge Nunc International in February 2004. Pactech had been the exclusive contract converter of Nalgene® Cantenes and Nalgene® packaging bags. Pactech sees a stable growth trend and continued expansion of manufacturing capability. The company is engaged in on-going education regarding Total Quality Management, ISO-9000, Six Sigma and related techniques of being on the leading edge of packaging manufacturers.
